30th Annual Aubrey Peanut Festival

Although peanut harvesting in the Aubrey area is in our past, area citizens have gathered in the town of Aubrey for an annual salute to the peanut as a part of our heritage since 1986. Peanut pride has grown over the years that an estimated 8,000 visitors enjoy the free day-long festival.

Attractions include:

• The parade which begins the day at 10:00 am, with citizens of the area riding past the spectators who line Main Street. The parade is led by the award winning high school marching band and is followed by representatives of all organizations and businesses in the area.
• Entertainment will include local singing artists, a gunslinger show, strolling magicians and musicians.
• There will be may games and activities for all ages.
• The peanut has a prominent position in the festival, with participants lined up for the peanut shelling contest, peanut butter sandwich eating contest, peanut shelling contest, peanut cooking contest and photo contest.
• There will be various food booths including barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs and other foods.
• There are over 100 booths with t-shirts, jewelry and other assorted arts and crafts.
