September 14 at 10:00am to at 3:00pm
From treasures to oddities, something for everyone

The Irving Heritage Society 5th Annual Treasures and Oddities Sale will be held on Saturday, September 14, from 10am-3pm at the Glory House Bistro, 109 South Main. Included are a Western Cottage pump organ, a very old mahogany game table with a fold out top and elaborately carved feet, as well as an extensive list of treasures and oddities. Nearly 400 items will be offered for sale, starting at $2 and up.
The range of the items include artwork by Michael Atkinson, a set of woman’s golf clubs and bag, a bronze statue of a lady dancing, elegant silver pieces, vintage camera equipment, an Italian Tole flower-hand painted 5 arm Shabby Cottage Chic chandelier to many holiday decorations, a “Gone With The Wind” style evening bag, Bugs Bunny 50th birthday picture and tribute to Mel Blanc framed, Italian made Junior Zither, W.L. Weller pouring stand, as well as a life sized cutout of Elvis Presley. The Irving walking stick has been rumored to perhaps have belonged to Rip Van Winkle and found in the hills of Las Colinas.

Proceeds from the sale go to the Heritage Society’s Mary’s Playhouse project. Located behind the 101 year old Heritage House, a former chicken coop was transformed into a playhouse for the young Schulze daughter many years ago. Currently the rebuilding of this structure is taking place. When completed, tours of the playhouse will serve to educate children about the history of their community.
