Whitney: National Trails Day Event

June 7 at 10:00am to at 4:00pm
Park Ranger Chris guiding an interpretive hike.

National Trails Day is the country’s largest celebration of trails. Celebrate National Trails Day by helping Lake Whitney State Park staff to complete a trail rehabilitation project on the Two Bridges Trail. The project will involve clearing brush, installing directional signs, constructing a bicycle ramp, installing a wayside interpretive panel, completing bridge maintenance and installing water bars or sways to preserve the tread. Meet at the Two Bridges Trail parking area.

Working on the Two Bridges Trail Rehabilitation Project is a great way to be of service to your community, spend quality time with family and friends and get some exercise with like-minded people. The work that is completed will help ensure professional trail standards and a quality trail experience for park visitors, and your contributions ensure that you leave a legacy behind at Lake Whitney State Park.

Free entrance permits are available for National Trails Day Event volunteers at Park Headquarters.

Bring drinking water, leather work gloves and closed toe shoes or boots. Our staff encourages participants to RSVP by email or register for the event on the National Trails Day website in advance.
