Lew: Texas Tunes 2015 Presents Ruthie Foster

January 17, 2015 - 8:00pm to 9:00pm

Texas born and bred singer/songwriter Ruthie Foster has developed a national following, based on her powerful vocal instrument, dynamic stage presence and authentic blues and gospel roots. She recently was named Critics Choice Female Blues Artist of the Year at the 20th Annual Living Blues Awards. She has also been nominated several times for Grammy awards.
From houses of worship to houses of blues, Ruthie Foster has always been a rafter-rattler. And with a soul-filled voice honed in Texas churches, she can move audiences to tears or ecstasy — sometimes in a single song. Meshell Ndegeocello described her amazing voice - “Ruthie's voice is such a singular, powerful instrument, and she has such mastery of it, she can turn it on, belt it out and bring you to your knees, all in an instant.”
