Texas Historical Commission (THC) and Kaufman County Historical Commission (KCHC) are hosting a “Texas In World War II” Military Oral History Training Workshop in Kaufman on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 –at the Kaufman County Library Community Room 3790 South Houston St. (FM 1388) (Next to Veterans Memorial Park)

Presented by William A. McWhorter, THC Program Coordinator for the History Programs Division and Military Sites Program, this free workshop is one of a series taking place across the state and is part of the THC’s “Texas in World War II” initiative.   Attendees will be provided with oral history training handouts and other “how-to” instructional material on historical markers, commemorative brochures, and site surveys are included in the program.  Don't miss this informative free workshop and the opportunity to meet and network with other area historical preservation volunteers.
