Whitney: Yoga on the Rocks

Yoga By The Water

“Yoga” is often described “the union of body and breath.” Hatha yoga is a wellness practice that uses physical poses coordinated with breathing techniques and calming of the mind through relaxation and meditative techniques. Hatha yoga poses are often linked together into a flowing sequence. A consistent yoga practice improves flexibility and increases functional strength. Yoga is a practice that can be adapted to the abilities of any body, and the healthful benefits are many. Meet at the Towash Day-Use Area.

Registered Yoga Teacher Dawn Harris will instruct the program. She received her yoga teacher certification through YogaFit, and also has certifications in Yoga Therapy, SilverSneakers and Reiki. Ms. Harris owns and operates Crescent Yoga Studio in Midlothian.
This program is part of a series called Saturday Morning Wellness on the Rocks.

Bring drinking water and a yoga mat. Wear loose comfortable clothing that allow a full range of motion. Yoga is excellent for families with children.

Fees

  • The program is free for any participant who has a valid entrance permit for the day. Entrance permits are available from Park Headquarters for $5.00 per person for everyone 13 or older. Children 12 or under are free. Entrance fees are also covered by a valid Texas State Parks Pass.
