Wichita Falls: Museum of North Texas History

Museum of North Texas History

This museum depicts the history of the area with exhibits, pictures, clothing and artifacts.  Included are exhibits about military history from Civil War to Desert Storm, and gas and oil production in North Texas.

During World War One, more than 500 Army pilots received their wings at Call Field. Today, little remains of Call Field, now the site of Wichita Falls Regional Airport - but its story, and that of the Curtiss Jenny, live on at the Museum of North Texas History. At the airport, you can see the museum's genuine Jenny biplane and learn about this pioneer chapter in the story of American and military aviation.
