Frisco: Frisco Heritage Museum

Ever wanted to visit a living room circa 1960s? Try the Frisco Heritage Museum where you can get your “groove” on as well as learn about living in Frisco whether its 1960 or 1860. Life on the Blackland prairies and pastures of a 19th century Frisco may hold as many surprises as the frisky Frisco of the 1960s in fact. In order to make the comparison, explore the museum’s exhibits including an examination of cotton from field to cloth, an early history of cotton farming, followed by a tour of the museum’s 1960s living room filled with period furnishings. Then wander around the Heritage Center’s village, a collection of historic structures including homes, a log cabin, a school house and the original Lebanon Baptist Church. The museum provides a map for self-guided tours of the village or will provide a docent to lead your tour. The museum also features a vintage cinema house where multimedia presentations reveal early Frisco industry. Looking for souvenirs? Take home a historical reproduction toy, a specialty book, t-shirt, or mug from the museum gift shop.
