Wichita Falls: River Bend Nature Center

Situated on a bluff overlooking a park in Wichita Falls, Texas, the nature center provides a year-round opportunity for visitors to see up close and enjoy the beauty of our natural environment. The Elizabeth Prothro Pavilion overlooks a beautiful 15-acre wooded site and three-quarter mile interpretive trail situated at the bottom of the gently sloped Hirschi Prairie Path and Gardens. The picturesque interpretive nature trail loops through a forest area, wetlands and pond habitat, a bird blind and habitat, and a fascinating outdoor butterfly garden. Trained Field Guides lead visitors through the trail and make the experience educational as well as enjoyable for the entire family. Or if you prefer, stroll at your own pace and explore and enjoy what nature has to offer.
