The Dallas Firefighters Museum is located in the 1907 Old No. 5 Hook and Ladder Company Station. It boasts a fantastic collection of old firetrucks including 'Old Tige,' a 1884 horse-drawn steam pumper named after then mayor W.L. Cabell and a 1936 ladder truck. Children can indulge their fascination with firefighters by climbing on a hook and ladder truck as well as viewing over 100 years of firefighting history thru a collection of extinguishers, helmets, suits, uniforms, etc. Sometimes you can hear present day's Dallas Fire Department's dispatchers.
