One of the city’s leading promoters was businessman Frank Kell, who built a lavish Classic Revival home in 1909. The Kell House is one of the most historically and architecturally significant buildings in Wichita Falls. Boasting seven fireplaces and hand-stenciled decorations, the restored home retains many original family furnishings, including a baby grand player piano. Guided tours of this local, state, and national landmark provide a fascinating history of this area’s early settlement and of the Kell family.
